Army Cadet Exchange
Ever wondered what Army Cadets in other countries get up to? Interested in foreign travel? How about when someone else pays for your airfare?? Then the Army Cadet Exchange (ACE) is for you.
To read more about ACE, click the links to the stories...
If you wish to apply, complete your application carefully! Last year we received far too many poorly filled out applications - simple mistakes on your form shows us that you didn't read it. The level of effort we're after from you on the application is a small price to pay for the opportunity you will potentially be afforded. This includes the fitness test - You MUST be physically fit. In previous years exchange, the Australian Cadets were put through their paces on mountainous pack marches, biathlons and SCUBA diving to name a few. The countries involved will have amazing programs on offer so it is essential that we send the people best prepared to participate in those programs.
Once you've filled out all the relevant bits and pieces on the form, send it up to be filled out by the relevant persons through your chain of command to your Regional HQ.
Applications
All applications for the ACE are to be completed on the attached word documents and are to be forwarded through the chain of command to their Regional Headquarters. Please note that there is a different application for Army Cadet Staff and Australian Army Cadets.
Each region is to conduct their own selection board with the successful regional candidates being passed to HQAAC for final selection. The national selection board will be conducted with the HQAAC final selection process being completed according to the dates on the relevant Task Order. Both successful and unsuccessful candidates will be advised of their result.
When forwarding the results of their deliberations Regional Headquarters are to ensure that their nominations are placed in order of merit.
Regional Headquarters will advise those candidates who do not proceed beyond the regional selection board process that their application has been unsuccessful.
For those Army Cadet Staff and Army cadets who reach the national selection process, HQAAC will be responsible for advising both successful candidates and unsuccessful candidates of their results.

The following advice is provided to assist applicants in writing their application. It should be noted this list is not exhaustive but does include issues that have been identified during the previous selection processes:
- Read and follow instructions carefully. Applicants who demonstrate an inability to do this reduce their chance of selection.
- Neatness! If the selection panel cannot read your application, it cannot assess your suitability for the exchange.
- Correctness and completeness. Make sure your application is complete
- As a way of checking your application, go through every section, imagine you are a person on the selection panel, and then ask yourself what is good about your application and what is not.
- The physical standard is the physical standard. Applicants who do not meet the minimum standard will not be considered.
- Please address any questions or concern to the POC listed on AAC exchange activities information.
